Slippery Rock Pet Grooming is entering its 6th year of operation. Handicap parking and ramped stairs are available, conveniently located on Rt. 173 in Slippery Rock, PA. Visa and Mastercard are both accepted.
I started Slippery Rock Pet Grooming because I have always had a love dogs and cats as a child and as an adult, including some other wild pets such as rabbits and birds, whom I was always trying to nurse back to health. I followed the path of Nursing (for humans) for 33 years. Throughout my life, I always had pets with way too much hair and I like to keep pets clean and smelling fresh. It was time for me to learn the proper and easier way to groom our hairy rescued pet dog, Patter, and kitty cat, Tiger to reduce shedding and make them comfortable and clean. I went to grooming school in 2001 at the Pennsylvania Academy of Pet Grooming in Indiana, PA. I enjoyed the classes and pets so much and knew that our area had a need for my services as people were driving long distances for grooming. I opened my own salon in 2001 and have been in the Slippery Rock Professional Building ever since.
I have not stopped learning the skills of the pet grooming industry as I attend yearly seminars at the Hershey Groom Expo in September, which is the largest east coast trade and education show. We also are certified in pet first aid by the American Red Cross. Our salon also offers West Paw Pet Beds, Quadruped Shampoos, Lupine leashes, as well as many other products to make your best friend cozy and comfortable. Come visit us sometime with or without your pet. We offer a friendly reception room with these pet products and more to help you and your pets. I will also try to help with any questions you may have about your pet to make your experience the best it can be. Slippery Rock Pet Grooming is pleased to welcome Deena Edwards as the newest member of the SRPG Team. Deena is a 2008 Graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Pet Grooming. Deena is the proud mom of Ebony -- a 12 year old cockapoo and Tiger -- a long-hair calico cat.

Quarterly Pet Tip -- Winter Grooming Care
It is important to continue grooming pets throughout the winter season. Dogs and cats that are kept indoors more in the winter rend to have dry skin, as well as flaking, itching, and shedding. At Slippery Rock Pet Grooming, the use of all natural oatmeal shampoos with Borage oil, aloe can help to reduce these problems.
When the snow comes in heavy, dogs also don't have the hard surfaces to walk on as they do in other seasons, so their nails grow longer and more quickly. If your dog doesn't necessarily need a haircut, call us for a nail clipping or a "pawdicure", which includes nail filing for homes that have hardwood floors, or for dogs clicking on floors. If your pet's pads are prone to cracked, dry pads and sensitive to cold, try our Espree brand of products.

No zippers or covers to mess with. Owner Carol Weghorst has had a West Paw Pet Bed for 5 years, washes it every 4 weeks, and has never torn!!

Starting in January -- Puppy Play Hour!!
This is a special 1-2 hour social atmosphere introduction for puppies 7 months to 24 months old. Puppies must be neutered or spayed, must have proof of all vaccienes and monthly flea protection from veterinarian. Kennel cough vaccine also required. Pupplies will be also introduced to grooming if they have not been to a groomer already. A 15 minute brushing demonstration will be given when the owner picks the puppy up. Puppy socialization with other puppies and playtime with puppy toys are only a couple of the fun activities we have planned for your newest member of the family.
